New Beginings - Positive Steps in Southwark

Self management uk in partnership with Southwark CCG is offering FREE self-management courses.

"NEW BEGINNINGS – POSITIVE STEPS” is a mental health self-management course for people living with, or in recovery from a mental health condition which enables individuals to manage and adapt to the problems they encounter in daily living, by introducing topics and activities including:

  • Confidence building, paced to individual requirements
  • Anxiety and Depression management
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Triggers and relapse symptom awareness
  • Set-back strategies and reinterpreting beliefs
  • Communicating better with family, friends and professionals
  • Planning for the future

 

Previous participants of this course have reported that it helped them to:

  • Feel more confident and in control of their lives
  • Form new friendships, reducing the feelings of isolation
  • Change their thinking about mental health
