Angie Usher is a Tutor, Assessor and Patient Voice for self management uk and a highly respected ambassador for self-management. In addition to her roles at self management uk, she is the Patient Representative for Unexplained Symptoms for the London Deanery.
Angie had a vibrant fashion career, prior to being diagnosed with multiple long-term conditions, including managing a chain of stores, and producing her own clothing line which dressed Take That and the Spice Girls, amongst others.
Angie is an engaged Expert Patient and an active self-manager. She manages her Fibromyalgia, IBS and other long-term conditions using the tools she learned on an Expert Patients Programme and now enjoys a second career as a trainer and self-management ambassador, making frequent appearances at events and in the media.
More recently she has been involved in the ‘Supporting Self Management for Life’ programme as a Patient Voice – a specialised role integral to teaching healthcare professionals about self-management. And she has just been invited to become a trustee of the IBS Network.
