Jean was one of the pioneers of the Expert Patients Programme and is a high profile ambassador for self-management. She is on the boards of many patient groups and care organisations in the UK and the US, as well as being a Tutor and Assessor for EPP CIC. She has recently taken part in an educational film for GPs about her condition, and has filmed an example of Shared Decision Making with her GP using the Ask 3 Questions model from Advancing Quality Alliance (AQuA). The film was shown at a joint event with AQuA and self management uk where a number of expert patients attended to discuss best practice in Shared Decision Making.
