We are running a series of webinars in May demonstrating our online self-management course. If you would like to be involved in one of these 30 minute demonstrations, please get in touch.
self management uk is a registered charity based in London, providing nationwide self-management courses to individuals living with long-term conditions. Established for over 12 years, we work closely with the NHS and influential health bodies and to date we have facilitated over 130,000 patients to become confident self-managers. On our web-based self-management course, participants will receive online support from our fully-trained peer tutors throughout the programme and will be able to interact with other people with long-term conditions via the programme’s online forum, to support their development and be the catalyst for the establishment of sustainable community based self-help groups.
Why self-management?
Our courses can significantly augment Occupational Health service offerings to employers/employees. In addition, the courses we run will ultimately save employers money as employees feel more confident in managing their conditions, therefore they take and use less NHS resources = less time off work. Over 71% of people agree that they feel more confident in managing their condition after completing the course. 83% of employees agree that paid work is good for physical and mental health.
